How we've watched the whales&enjoyed Sydney
05/07/2010 10:38G'day mates,
I must tell you how you can enjoy Sydney in winter. Don't listen to lies such as "It's cold, windy, bad weather, boring, etc..." This is simply human's envy! Sydney is awesom in winter. Sunny and chilly. Of course, it's never boring! In fact, you can enjoy more then you can imagine. There are many ways how to have a fun, especially whales. They migrate each winter around Australian coast (remember - Australian winter takes from the end of April until the end of August). In this time, you can have them almost at your fingertips! All you need is to find a right company. Be sure, there are a lot people who want to make extra money from whales. I can recommend Sydney Whales Watching. You won't be disappointed. Nevertheless make sure, that you have booked the big boat. It's more comfortable and safer cruise. Experienced captain gets you very, very close so you can enjoy unforgettable wiew of the leaping whales. Oh no, this is not add, just how we've been excited!
We had to get up quiet early on Saturday, the day of our trip. So I got up, made a coffee and pulled my sweetheart from the bed. That was the easier part, because I went mad from the fact, that we're missing our (only one possible) bus. I was really in shock when my darling told me we had got 15 minutes more... This is me... Therefore we had to wait 15 minutes in cold but sunny morning. No more accidents after. I definitely woke up in the bus so we enjoyed the way. Finally, we were at the place 15 min earlier and had to wait for that lazy captain next half an hour! Despite this we didn't care. It was sunny and we always have our own world :)
I must say the boat was really cool! Big, quick and comfortable! We got a (almost) warm coffee, buiscuit and apple. How generous! When all passengers from all harbours were shipped, we finally went to the ocean. First hour was just about beautiful lookouts to the Opera House, some lighthouses and North Head! (The world's most famous video the Adventure of North Head you can watch HERE ;) ) The entire cruise was accompanied by strong wind. My love enjoyed it but I, facing the strong wind, barely gasping. On the other side I enjoyed the swings, which sometimes resembled a rollercoaster and not allowed normal walking. Poor sailors! Fortunatelly, nobady suffered from sea sickness! Just our luck :)
First time, we didn't see anything. The speakers were talking about third hour, all people were on the one side of boat, but there was nothing to see. Only the captain spoke as if the ship was struggling right whales! However we were not disappointed. Whales! Oh my God! I've never seen something as big as whale and yet so naturally elegant. I could not believe this large animal can jump so high! Despite my lazy camera I took some beautiful photos! I am proud of them so I refused to buy an amateur burned CD with wannabe professional photos for $35!!! A long lens does not make a good photographer automatically! So at least I ate all the biscuits and we got off at Darling Harbour. There we were sitting on the sunshine and eating all stolen apples from the boat. Cocky seagull refused to eat the apple core!!!
Then, we went to China Town. Oh stinky poor (only one) street where you are herded into wannabe luxury restaurants. Pretty expensive of course! I am not so brave, sorry.. In the market, I bought an anorak for me, because the last one was stolen from my room by Korean guy. I hope he is in Korea now because I am really worry about his health in case he meet me again! I'd rather not describe how nice the Chinese traders are! All I can say is - golden Czech Vietnamese!!!!
Later, we had to buy a map. All right I admit: What would I do without you honey? Since then she and the map were inseparable friends! Just because they we finally found DOMA restaurant! I've never eaten better SVICKOVA or GOULASH :oD Pretty funny isn't it? And Czech (understeand REAL) beer! HA HA HA! We were sitting there, eating the ten-star meal and laughing at poor Australians who can't drink Czech (REAL) beer. HA HA Czech girls can drink better then they!!!
After that we went for a trip. From King's cross to Circular Quay through the Botanic Gardens (oh I love bats!!!). Lighted Opera House and voyage by Ferry were just bonuses. The beautiful bonuses I must say. I don't have to say we were dead tired in night and slept like babies!
That's it. See ya mates :)
Start
28/06/2010 10:18Today I started working on my new webpages. They are quiet amateurs and my English still basic. However you can understeand better as I hope. I can not upload photos at school so perhaps tonight.
Me&my sweetheart have a cold. It is paradox because the winter is amazing. In the worst case the weather is like Czech autumn. Sometimes rain and cold nights. People still surf, swimm and sport everywhere.
I really enjoy these days despite of my blocked cervical vertebra. I have never seen this word. Vertebra... My neck is stiff and every move is painful. Even laught is painful! Bad luck :(
However my darling is very patient with me and warms my kerchief up before I put it on round my neck. Actually I can't do anything without this stupid kerchief! I am looking forward to my "palestina" It is the right cover for my poor neck.
In spite of having cold and other problems, we have the best time in our lifes! I love her and Love gives me strengh to do my school. If I had not had her, I would not have been so motivated as I am. It is amazing and I believe in Love again. I know, it is not experience about Australia but I promise that next time I will wright about some action. We have been nursing cold yet. That' it. See ya mates :)
